Why are we still here?

Well, it’s not because we have fallen in love with A Coruna and want to stay all year. When we crossed Biscay, we developed a steering issue that was putting excessive stress on our autopilot. As a result, we had to hand steer across, this was difficult as the bearing was getting stiffer and stiffer. We have fashioned a fix that will get us down to the Algarve and are now departing tomorrow. This will give the current weather system a chance to move a little south and give us fairer winds. Today’s winds are shown below…. this will drop a little overnight allowing us to depart.

So a little boat school over the last two days and in keeping with our eco friendly journey (and extra time on our hands) I have been to a haberdashery this morning and bought a new zip for my shorts….. I couldn’t resist turning the task slightly manly, by using a power tool to wind the sewing machine bobbin up!!!

And yes, that is me using Sophie’s very handy little sewing machine!
